Illustration Techniques, Week Nine: Our Culminating Activity

We're now beginning our culminating activity; applying everything we learned this semester to an actual illustration assignment.

Here are links to two articles about "McJobs" The first is a satirical article from Vice called "Getting Myself McFired" WARNING: this article contains graphic swearing. If you are offended by the F-word, do not click the link to this article.

The second article is a business story from CBC called "Why are so many of Canada's young people out of work?"

Read one or both articles, think of some ideas for your own story of a "McJob" experience you have had.

If you have never had a crappy part-time job, think back to some time in your life when you had to do an unpleasant chore at home or some other sort of stressful task you did not enjoy doing.

For next week:

1.) Write a script describing your "McJob" experience. Here's a great sample script written by a student last year. Use this as an example the format I'm looking for:

2.) Draw some concept sketches of yourself and any other people who are part of your story. Sketch location/environment and props that may appear in the story as well.
Here are the concept sketches that the same student created to go with the above script. use these as a reference for the amount of sketches and quality I'm looking for:
